Being a golf lady myself, this is a very interesting infographic.

    1350 a.d. Golf was invented
    1457 a.d. Golf was banned
    1744 a.d. The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers is formed
    1857 a.d. The Golfer’s Manual, written by “A Keen Hand” is published for the public, and it is technically the first golf manual
    1975 a.d. Tiger Wood is born (Golf is changed FOREVER)  :)

Some additional interesting and noteworthy golf facts:

    14,355 ft above sea level is the highest course in the world. This golf course is in Peru.
    8,325 yards is the longest golf course in the world
    77.2% of golfers are men
    22.8% of golfers are women
    There are 336 dimples on a golf ball
    125,000 golf balls go into the water every year at the 17th hole at Sawgrass
